STEVEN F. WHITE was born in Abington, PA, in 1955 and was raised in Glencoe, IL. He received a B.A. in English from Williams College and an M.A. in Spanish and Hispanic American literature from the University of Oregon. His awards include the Academy of American Poets Prize in 1975 and 1977 as well as the Hubbard Hutchinson Fellowship from Williams College, which enabled him to travel and to work in various Latin American countries for two years. His poems and translations have appeared in numerous magazines including Review (Center for Inter-American Relations), New Directions Anthology, Nicaraguan Perspectives, Aspen Anthology, La Prensa Libre (San José, Costa Rica), La Prensa Literaria (Managua, Nicaragua), and Anthology of Magazine Verse & Yearbook of American Poetry.
